Pam Folsom at The Wine Room

Join Us This Wednesday for a Special Reception with Artist Pam Folsom

Wednesday, December 10 • 6–8pm
Artist Talk at 7pm

At The Wine Room, 2704 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY 40206

This collection will continue to be on view at The Wine Room through January 3, 2026.

We are excited to close out the year with a vibrant celebration of art, color, and community as we welcome Cincinnati painter Pam Folsom to The Wine Room for a special reception and artist talk.

Pam Folsom's energetic oil paintings capture the essence of familiar places. From the rolling farmlands of the Midwest to the bright shores of Florida’s coastline, her work reveals the beauty in ordinary landscapes and moments. Her award-winning paintings have been featured in numerous juried exhibitions and appear in private and corporate collections across the U.S. and internationally.

We’re especially excited to share that many of the works on view were recently exhibited in â€śRegionalism: Images of the Midwest” at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, highlighting Pam’s significant contribution to the visual narrative of our region.

There will be a casual artist talk at 7pm where Pam will share insights into her plein air practice and her belief in slowing down, noticing the moment, and creating a visual dialogue with the viewer. As she says, there are “no rules, no guidelines—just creating visual communication with others that appreciate the dialogue.”

This reception is held in partnership with The Wine Room by JBell Wine Co, who will be offering a sample of J Bell Wine during the event. A cash bar will be available throughout the evening.

Help us celebrate an incredible inaugural year of Wine & Art programming as we raise a glass to the final event of the season—and to an exciting 2026 ahead.

We hope to see you this Wednesday from 6–8pm for an evening of art, conversation, and community.

Pam Folsom High on a Hill

"I am drawn to paint on location whenever I can.  The colors and sensations around me are my inspiration, and as I place strokes of paint on my canvas, I am very aware of relationships—the interplay between thick and thin paint, between the elements of the composition, between colors and edges.  The resulting paintings are beyond reality, but believable so that viewers can enter a dialogue with them, and through them, with me.

These paintings are about slowing down, stopping to appreciate the moment, and finding the visual language to express what I need to say. Drinking in the day, life is intoxicating if you take the time to notice.  The most ordinary of subjects—old buildings or trees across a field—are intensely beautiful in their own way when you look with fresh eyes.

It is strictly out of selfishness that I paint; I enjoy it that much.  An hour passes, a day, however long it takes.  No rules, no guidelines, just creating visual communication with others that appreciate the dialogue." -- Pam Folsom
