Please join us this Friday, June 12 from 6:00 to 8:00pm for the opening reception of patrick ADAMS + teri DRYDEN: pieced TOGETHER at WheelHouse Art, LEX. This two-person exhibition brings together Lexington-based artist Patrick Adams and Louisville-based artist Teri Dryden, two artists whose abstract works are built through layering, collage, surface, and process. WheelHouse Art, LEX | 500 W. Short Street, Lexington, KY 40507
Also on view will be a collection of work by Gary Carpenter. The exhibition continues through July 25.

Adams’s canvas-based works are constructed through painted layers, scratched marks, and fragments of older painted surfaces. His compositions carry the energy of revision and discovery, balancing painterly gesture with a strong sense of structure.
Dryden’s mixed media works are built from paper, drawing, paint, and found materials. Her panels hold traces of memory, place, impermanence, and personal history, with surfaces that feel intimate, intuitive, and alive with texture.
Together, the artists create a compelling conversation around what it means to build an image from parts. In pieced TOGETHER, collage becomes more than a material process. It becomes a way of thinking about time, memory, change, and the transformation of one thing into another.
The exhibition also carries a special connection to the Lexington gallery space. Both artists previously exhibited at New Editions Gallery, the space WheelHouse Art took over in 2026, and Dryden has long been part of the WheelHouse Art program in Louisville. We are excited to bring these two artists together in Lexington for this new exhibition.

Intentional Spatial Healing Welcome once again to WheelHouse Art’s Art by Volume, presented by the Wine Room by J. Bell Wine Co. It was my pleasure to wrap up this season with an interview featuring Natalie Officer of Natalie O Designs. As an interior designer, Natalie uses her expertise to curate spaces tailored to the needs of each individual client she works with. She also intentionally works with local artists and craftsfolk to add art, color, furniture and other design elements
that bring the vision to life. We spoke on the topics of space and its impact on how we live life, healing processes, artistic collaboration, family, and the imbalance of life.
WheelHouse Art’s Art by Volume, presented by the Wine Room by J. Bell Wine Co is available wherever you listen to your podcasts, and is also available on WheelHouse Art's YouTube Channel.
